Dear Congress (part II)

Hi, Guys!

Here’s a followup to my previous letter.  I know you Congressional types are busy with the Jewish Holiday, so I’ll keep it brief.

I just now got around to reading the bail-out bill, and let me tell you… that sucker is huge!  Its been a long time since time since I’ve read anything over 400 pages.   I mean, in school I had to read Hamlet.  That was only 120 pages or so and like the bill it has drama and made sense after you translate all the big words.

Anyway, I was reading along and came across a section I didn’t understand, and was wondering if you could explain:

Chief Wisdom

Seattle, Washington

In 1851 Seattle (See-at-la), Chief of the Suquamish and other Indian tribes around Washington’s Puget Sound, delivered what is considered to be one of the most beautiful and profound environmental statements ever made. The city of Seattle is named for the Chief, whose speech was in resonse to a proposal treaty under which the Indians were persuaded to sell two million acres of land for $150,000. There are several translations/versions of Chief Seattle’s speech.
